Our Program

At Building Blocks we:

• Focus on creativity, socialization, and development of self-esteem.
• Offer activities designed to meet the needs of each individual child.
• Offer developmentally appropriate materials and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure environment.
• Provide low child-to-teacher ratio.

We understand that each child is an individual. We adapt our lessons to each child’s needs, so that your child may develop to their fullest potential. Children learn through play. We want to make the learning process fun, through activities geared to the appropriate age level of the group.

Building Blocks is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. We are open 12 months a year from 6:30am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Part-time programs are available. Enrollment is open to children from 6 weeks to school age.

Infants

Our infant program provides top-rate care and lots of cuddling!  Our very low infant/adult ratio ensures an abundance of attention, stimulation, and loving care for your baby. We stimulate all five senses through age-appropriate toys, games, stories, singing, music and movement, reading, and art.

Toddlers

Toddlers make great steps toward independence, social awareness, and verbal communication. Our staff encourages children to explore their world through a variety of hands-on activities.

The toddler room is full of fun with imaginary play, creative art, music and movement, story time, independent play, and quiet time.

Pre-School & Pre-K

Reading readiness, pre-math, computer programs, outdoor play, art projects, science, nature study, and movement are just some of the daily activities your child will enjoy. We celebrate achievements, foster their independence, and encourage their creativity and socialization while developing a love of learning in a warm, secure environment.

Full-Day Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten program is a comprehensive skill-based program, designed to prepare children for the first grade. Lessons are tailored to meet the child's individual needs and designed to give children opportunities to explore, question, communicate, and create in a fun, supportive environment.

School Age & Summer Camps

We offer before and after school care for school age children. Children can play with their friends and participate in a variety of recreational activities, computers, assistance with homework, and lots of outdoor play. The after school program is also offered for school holidays, early dismissal days, and emergency school closings. The summer offers an action-packed summer camp program.
